Trailer: Will GOT Fans Genuflect to New Planet of the Apes Flick?

HOLLYWOOD— Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has dropped one last trailer before the movie releases into theaters.

After the rebooted franchises first three movies, Rise, Dawn, and War of the Planet of the Apes, comes Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The synopsis for the fourth installment reads:

“Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caeser’s reign, in which apes are the dominate species living harmoniously and human has been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”

Owen Teague, who played Patrick Hockstetter in the rebooted IT and IT Chapter Two, plays Noa, a chimpanzee. Playing the other apes are Kevin Durand (The Strain, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) plays Proximus Caesar and Peter Macon (Dexter, Shameless) as Raka.

Playing the humans in the movie is Freya Allan, who plays Princess Cirilla in Netflix’s “The Witcher”, as Mae/Nova and William H. Macy (Fargo, Shameless) plays Trevathan.

To promote the movie, people in ape suits on horseback have been walking around Venice Beach in California.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is set to hit theaters on May 10, 2024.
