SAN ANGELO, TX — Aviation enthusiasts and history buffs can step back in time and experience air travel from the 1920s as the historic Ford Tri-Motor aircraft visits the San Angelo Regional Airport.
This will happen from April 18 through April 21, 2024.
Known as the "Tin Goose," the Ford Tri-Motor revolutionized commercial aviation in the early 20th century, introducing luxury air travel to the masses and ushering in the "golden age of aviation."
This aircraft will offer flights Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets are priced at $99 for adults and $75 for children 17 and under.
Flights will operate continuously throughout the day.
The event, hosted at Mathis Field, invites families to fly in the Ford Tri-Motor and learn about its history through tours guided by volunteers.
Viewing the aircraft is free, and guests are encouraged to bring cameras.
Proceeds from the event will support the ongoing maintenance and operational costs of the aircraft.
Hearing protection will be provided, as recommended by the organizers.
