Biden's Economy Has Austin City Limits Singing the Blues for the Last Time

AUSTIN, TX - Austin City Limits Radio announced on Wednesday that Blues On The Green is canceled for 2024 due to "rising costs." The summer staple in Austin, running for over 30 years, most recently took place at Zilker Park in downtown Austin, completing its 32nd season in 2023.

In a release, ACL Radio expressed the privilege of hosting Blues On The Green and highlighted the increasing challenges of producing an event of this size without admission fees or bar sales while keeping it free and open to the public.

The cancellation is framed as a temporary hold rather than a permanent goodbye. ACL Radio expressed love for Blues On The Green and hopes to collaborate with the city, community, and sponsors to bring it back in the future. The statement acknowledged the event's importance as a community institution and expressed gratitude to everyone involved, from attendees to behind-the-scenes contributors and performers who graced the stage.
