SAN ANGELO - The historic grounds of Fort Concho are to come alive with festivity during the 42nd annual Christmas at Old Ft. Concho celebration.
The three-day event features Christmas delights, shopping, and entertainment for the whole family, all set against the backdrop of the storied fort.
The festivities kick off on Friday, Dec. 1, running from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and continue throughout the weekend.
Saturday, Dec. 2, welcomes visitors from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., while the event wraps up on Sunday, December 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This annual tradition not only ushers in the holiday spirit but also serves as a fundraiser for ongoing restoration projects and educational programs at Fort Concho National Historic Landmark.
Daily passes are available for adults at $7, with reduced rates for seniors (60 plus) and military at $5.
Children aged 7-17 can enjoy the festivities for $3, while those six and under are admitted free of charge.
For those looking to make the most of the weekend, weekend passes are priced at $14 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, and $6 for children. Again, children under six can attend for free.
For those with an appetite for more than just holiday cheer, Saturday morning offers a special treat with pancakes with Santa. Hosted by the San Angelo Lions Club, the breakfast, served in the stables from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., is priced at $8 per person for breakfast only or $12 per person for both breakfast and event admission. Children four and under are admitted free.
On Sunday morning, the San Angelo Cowboy Church takes the reins with a hearty "Chuck Wagon" breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fried taters, and coffee. This savory experience is available from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., with a ticket price of $13 per person.
Beyond the meal offerings, attendees can immerse themselves in the unique charm of the historic fort. Explore Christmas shopping in the fort's historic buildings, witness living history reenactments, capture memories with Santa in festive photos, and enjoy a backdrop of seasonal music and more.
