Mega Millions, a collective of state lotteries, confirmed that the winning ticket of the grandest jackpot in Texas since 2019, amounting to $360 million, was sold at a Stripes Convenience Store located at 5665 Sherwood Way, adjacent to Walmart. Opting for a one-time cash payout would give the lucky winner $156.9 million. The Texas Lottery participates in the Mega Millions consortium.
The fortunate ticket holder has two choices: a one-time cash payout of $156.9 million or a spread of 30 annual graduated payments, where each amount exceeds its predecessor.
This marks the 15th instance a Mega Millions jackpot has been claimed by a ticket sold in Texas. The winning numbers drawn on Friday night, Oct. 6, were: 12-24-46-57-66 with a MegaBall of 22. Following this win, the jackpot has been reset to $20 million for the upcoming Tuesday night drawing. Mega Millions hosts drawings every Tuesday and Friday throughout the year.
