Gorillas Set to Return to the San Antonio Zoo

SAN ANTONIO, TX – After a year of anticipation, the San Antonio Zoo has unveiled renderings of its upcoming gorilla exhibit.

Congo Falls, two-acre habitat, will soon be home to the troop of Western lowland gorillas. “We can’t overstate the excitement we have for bringing gorillas back to San Antonio Zoo,” said Tim Morrow, President and CEO of San Antonio Zoo.

A eye popping feature in the design is a tower, a "world's first," allowing gorillas to climb from their habitat to an event center on the a cliff wall.

The grand opening is set for early 2025, with a new zoo entrance debuting this November. The sign will of course feature large gorilla statues.
