LOS ANGELOS, CA – Paul Reubens, aka Pee-wee Herman, died on Monday following a long battle with cancer.
Pee-wee Herman, portrayed by actor Paul Reubens, was an iconic character known for his childlike antics and distinctive bow-tie outfit. Debuting in the 1980s, the character became a pop culture sensation through the stage show "The Pee-wee Herman Show" and the children's TV series "Pee-wee's Playhouse," which ran from 1986 to 1990.

Pee-wee's quirky humor and zany adventures endeared him to audiences of all ages. However, in 1991, Reubens faced a personal scandal when he was arrested for masturbating in an adult movie theatre. Nevertheless, he made a successful comeback and continued to perform as Pee-wee in stage shows and appearances, cementing his place as an enduring cultural icon.
Reubens died at the age of 70.
