Powerball Grand Prize Now Worth Over $1 Billion

SAN ANGELO, TX — No one claimed the $900 million Powerball jackpot drawing on Monday, July 17. As a result, Americans have another chance at $1 billion. Several tickets came close to pulling the winning numbers, but no one won the Grand Prize.

Eight tickets across the country matched all the white balls but failed to match the Powerball. One of those tickets was from a Texas resident who won $2 million. People have another chance to win it big on Wednesday, July 19, at 11 p.m.

The Grand Prize is now worth an estimated one billion dollars. Officials expect this number to rise even more with a surge in ticket sales now that the Grand Prize is still on the line. Winners have a choice to have the full amount paid out over 29 years or receive a one-time cash lump sum. The lump sum is worth an estimated $516.8 million.

The odds of winning the Grand Prize are 1 in 292,201,338.

The winning numbers for Monday night, July 17, were 5-8-9-17-41-21. 21 was the Powerball. People can watch the live drawing on Wednesday night HERE. For additional information, visit the Powerball’s official website.
