WATCH: Final Trailer for 'The Flash' Released

 

HOLLYWOOD— The Flash has released a final trailer as tickets for the Scarlet Speeder’s first feature film go on sale.

The final trailer before the Ezra Miller starring film, The Flash, has dropped before the movie hits theaters on June 16, 2023. After rumors of a Flash movie floated around for a long time and this film went through several directors, the final product is ready to be screened. This new trailer debuts new footage and more of the two Batman actors that share the screen.

The Flash synopsis reads:

“Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian – albeit not the one he’s looking for.”

From the trailer, Zack Snyder’s casting choice for Alfred Pennyworth, Jeremy Irons, is seen briefly before getting more of Ben Affleck’s Batman. Bruce seems to try and dissuade Miller’s Barry Allen from going back in time but to no avail. In doing this, he did end up saving his mom and meeting another Barry Allen, played by none other than Ezra Miller.

Pulling from the Flashpoint comic run, Barry does just that and ends up altering the universe. After going back to Batman, this time it’s Michael Keaton’s Caped Crusader from Batman 1989 and Batman Returns, the action starts to heat up.

They seem to go after Henry Cavill’s Superman only to find Sasha Calle’s Supergirl pr Kara Zor-El, Clark Kent’s, or Kal-El’s cousin in the comics.

There seems to be a good mix of new and returning faces, one of those being Michael Shannon’s General Zod, who is seen trying to terraform Earth, like he did in Man of Steel, into Krypton. Obviously, Barry, Barry, Batman, and Supergirl have to stop him.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti, who did the tremendous job on IT and IT: Chapter Two. DC Studios has taken several horror directors and given them big characters to work with. James Wan directed Aquaman, David F. Sandbergy directed SHAZAM and its sequel, and James Gunn, who is now the shot caller at DC directed The Suicide Squad.

Miller leads the film playing Barry Allen/The Flash but he’s far from the only recognizable face.

The Flash cast includes:

  • Michael Keaton- Bryce Wayne/Batman
  • Sasha Calle- Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
  • Michael Shannon- General Zod
  • Antje Traue- Faora-Ul
  • Ron Livingston- Henry Allen
  • Maribel Verdu- Nora Allen
  • Kiersey Clemons- Iris West

The Flash also is expected to bring other members from Zack Snyder’s Justice League to the screen like Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman. Other off-the-wall cameos are also expected.

Muschietti confirmed that Nicolas Cage, yes, that Nicolas Cage, the “Put the bunny back in the box” Nicolas Cage, the “A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z” Nicolas Cage, will have a cameo as Superman in “The Flash. Cage actually, really, was set at one point to play Superman in “Superman Lives” a movie that wasn’t made but has a documentary called “The Death of Superman Lives”.

The Flash sprints into theaters on June 16, 2023.
