Tina Turner, Queen of Rock N' Roll, Dead at 83

 

SWITZERLAND— Tina Turner, dubbed the Queen of Rock N’ Roll, has died at the age of 83.

Turner battled declining health recently and dealt with battles with intestinal cancer in 2016 and had a kidney transplant shortly after.
Turner was born on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee and rose to the top of the music charts in the 1980’s with iconic hits like “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and “The Best”.

She was famously married to Ike Turner, who was physical and emotionally abusive towards her. Turner has sold more than 180 million album and has 12 Grammys. She also starred in movies like “What’s Love Got to do With it”, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, and Last Action Hero.

Turner died in her home near Zurich, Switzerland.
