Ethan Hunt is Back in Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One Official Trailer

HOLLYWOOD— Tom Cruise is back in action taking on another impossible mission in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’s newly released trailer.

The official synopsis reads:

“In Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.

With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is force to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission- not even the lives of those he cares about most.”

Helmed by Mission: Impossible Fallout and Mission: Impossible Rouge Nation’s director Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise’s ability to do his own stunts are enabled. In Fallout, Cruise performed a HALO jump from a plane. Something the camera man had to do backwards.

Familiar faces to the Mission: Impossible franchise are returning in Cruise, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.

New faces include Hayley Atwell as Grace, Esai Morales as Gabriel, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, Pom Klementieff in an undisclosed role as an assassin hunting down Ethan Hunt.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One is set to hit theaters July 12, 2023.
