'The Meg 2: The Trench' Drops First Trailer

 

HOLLYWOOD — The sequel about a giant prehistoric dinosaur eating shark has dropped its first trailer.

'The Meg 2: The Trench' has released a trailer online which features the huge megalodon shark taking down a tyrannosaurus rex. An official synopsis has not been released yet but 'The Meg 2: The Trench', which is based on a book, follows Jonas Taylor as he explores the Mariana Trench.

After watching the trailer, the Meg might not be the only giant creature Taylor faces off against.

Also, 'The Meg 2: The Trench' is a sequel to 2018’s 'The Meg', which followed a team of scientists and Taylor take on not one, but TWO giant sharks.

'The Meg 2: The Trench' is directed by Ben Wheatley, who directed Free Fire and episodes of Doctor Who. The cast includes:

  • Jason Statham (The Expendables Franchise, The Transporter Franchise)- Jonas Taylor
  • Page Kennedy (Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland)- DJ
  • Cliff Curtis (Training Day, Avatar: The Way of Water)- James “Mac” Mackreides

  • Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Rambo: Last Blood)
  • Sienna Guillory (Eragon, Inkheart)
  • Wu Jing (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor)

The Meg 2: The Trench is set to swim into theaters August 4, 2023.
