May the 4th be With You Arrakis: Here's the Dune 2 Trailer

HOLLYWOOD— The Sleeper has awakened in the Dune Part Two trailer that was released today.

Dune Part Two is a direct sequel to Dune, released in 2021. Based on Frank Herbert’s masterpiece “Dune”, the story follows Paul Atreides, played by Timothee Chalamet, as he becomes the “Messiah” of the native people on Arrakis. There are also giant worms on Arrakis, a desert planet, that are related to “spice” which is a drug and also hyperspace fuel.

The Dune Part Two synopsis reads:

Paul Atreides united with Chani and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he must prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Denis Villenueve, who is on a hot streak since his 2013 film Prisoners, returns to the director’s chair as he helmed Dune a couple of years ago. Along with Prisoners, Villenueve directed Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049.

Returning to the desert is Chalamet as Paul, Zendaya (MJ in Spiderman: No Way Home) as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Hallack Stellen Skarsgard as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as Glossu “The Beast” Rabben, Stephen McKinley Henderson as Thufir Hawat, and Charolette Rampling as the Bene Gesserit Reverend Mother Helen Mohiam.

Joining the cast is Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Austin Butler as Paul’s nemesis, Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

Dune Part Two is currently set to be released into theaters on November 3, 2023.
