San Angelo Native to Appear on Food Network's Chopped

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo native will be on the new season of Chopped on the Food Network in April.

Ashley Anessa Young-Turner is originally from San Angelo. During her time here she managed restaurants particularly the Concho Pearl. She since has moved to Milwaukee, WI, to run an ale house named Hacienda Taproom and Kitchen.

In the Kitchen at the Hacienda, Young-Turner's menu is compiled of a mix of Mexican, American, and BBQ items. Items like the BBQ Nacho Bites, the Texas Brisket Chili, and the Chicken Fried Steak Sammie bring the feeling of West Texas to the Midwest.

This will likely carry over onto the show. Chopped is a cooking competition show that puts three chefs against each other to compete for $10,000. During the show chefs will have to survive three rounds. Each round they will receive a mystery basket with items that typically don't go together. An example would be sardines, pepper jack cheese, and watermelon.

The show with Young-Turner will be the first episode of the new season. It is set to air on Tuesday, Apr. 4, 2023 at 7 p.m.
