FULL GUIDE: The Best Plan for New Year's Eve in San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – New Year's Eve is this weekend and what better way to celebrate than a night out on the town in San Angelo. With that, San Angelo LIVE! has put together a full guide for the big weekend. 

The party will kick off on Friday night at Blaines Pub. That night the Tejas Brothers will perform live. The Tejas Brothers are the original Tex-Mex Honky Tonk band from Ft. Worth. Founded in 2006, the band has been recognized as one of the best live acts in the Lone Star State, with fans often traveling hundreds of miles to catch a live performance. The group specializes in recording and performing original Americana/Country/Folk music, influenced by Country, Rock, Blues and Tex-Mex. The show kicks off at 10 p.m.

Then on Saturday start your day by watching the NCAA college football playoffs. Games start at 4 p.m. with Texas Christian University taking on Michigan. For those that aren't into football go check out Myer's Boutique. They are having a 20% off sale on everything in the boutique.

For dinner, make a reservation at The Angry Cactus. During this fine dining experience you will receive a five course meal. The following is the full menu constructed by executive chef Tim Condon and other chefs at the Angry Cactus. For reservations call (325) 703-6999. Reservations are recommended. 

  • Appetizer Number 1 - “The Tradition” -  Stewed Blackeye Peas and Collard Greens served with a Pork Belly Cheddar Cornbread Crostini.
  • Appetizer Number 2 - Winter Salad - Baby Spinach, Candied Beets, and Texas Goat Cheese topped with Balsamic Drizzle and Spiced Pecans.
  • Intermezzo - Raspberry Granita with Micro Basil.
  • Entrée Option 1 - Wild Boar Chop - Broken Arrow Ranch, Wood Grilled Wild Boar Chop, Whipped Sweet Potato, and Roasted Root Vegetables topped with Black Cherry Demi-glaze. Chef’s Wine suggestion- 2016 Wagner Family Conundrum

  • Desert - Chocolate - Warm Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Crisp, Seasonal Berries and more Chocolate!

After dinner catch the back half of the NCAA college football playoffs at City Limits. On New Year's Eve the bar will be having a party that will consist of door prizes, drink specials, and a live performance by Drawing a Blank. According to the band's Facebook, Drawing A Blank is a one of a kind band with a one of a kind sound based in San Angelo, Texas.

For the last stop of the night be ready to have some fun. Remember your dancing shoes ladies because at Penny Tap House on New Years Eve Amino will be taking over the building. Along with the Tejano band ring in the New Year with $3 import beers and $4 select shots. Ánimo on their Facebook describes itself as a Multi-Genre Band Based Out Of San Angelo. 

If you do following this guide it is likely you'll have the best NYE possible. To ensure that you make it to the new year though make sure you follow a few steps. First never drink and drive instead use ride share apps like, Uber and Lyft, or find a responsible designated driver.  Second always remember to wear a seatbelt while in a vehicle as this is the most dangerous time of the year. Lastly do not text and drive. Distracted driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving so stay off the road.
