Abilene Zoo Holds Birthday Party for Kito the Giraffe

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Zoo on Tuesday held a birthday party for its giraffe, Kito.

Kito, a male giraffe, celebrated his 7th birthday on Dec. 28, 2022 during the Zoo's Christmas Lights celebration. The celebration is called Abilene Zoo Lights.

During this event, zoo goers are allowed to feed giraffe from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. as long as the temperature is above 45 degrees. On Kito's birthday weather did permit the extra feeding so he got plenty of "cake" on his birthday.

The Abilene Zoo is located at 2070 Zoo Ln in Abilene. During the holiday season the zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. They will have a ton of holiday actives including a skating rink, tasty winter treats, snowfall every 30 minutes after 4 p.m., and of course the zoo Christmas light on all of the exhibits
