HOLLYWOOD — The official synopsis for The Mandalorian season 3 has been released!
One of the few positives Disney has done with the Star Wars franchise is the creation of “The Mandalorian,” which follows Din Djarin as he tries to survive in the galaxy after the destruction of the second Death Star. Set about five years after Return of the Jedi, audiences see what life without the Empire is like.
The official synopsis reads:
“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”
From the start of the series, Djarin, also known as Mando, discovers Grogu, a young alien of Yoda’s unknown species, hence the nickname “Baby Yoda.” The Armorer sets Mando on the path to find Grogu’s people, who Mando believes to be the Jedi. At the end of season one, villain Moff Gideon, played by Giancarlo Esposito, has the “dark saber,” a weapon wielded by the ruler of Mandalore, which was destroyed by the Empire.
In the season two finale, Mando beats Moff Gideon in battle and takes the dark saber, and a de-aged Luke Skywalker takes Grogu to train him in the ways of the Jedi. Along the way, familiar faces like Boba Fett, Bo Katan, and Ahsoka Tano join the show.
Boba Fett returned in his Disney+ show titled “The Book of Boba Fett,” where Mando also made an appearance. He obtained a new ship, and Grogu left the training with Luke to go on adventures with Djarin.
The Mandalorian was created by Jon Favreau, the executive producer, along with Davi Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. The series has had several directors, including Favreau, Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Taika Waititi, Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, and Carl Weathers.
