HOLLYWOOD – The Super Mario Bros Movie has released another trailer and it features some of the most iconic Nintendo characters!
The second trailer for the animated movie that features everyone’s favorite plumber is here and with it are Nintento icons like Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, and of course the Koopa King himself, Bowser.
The official synopsis reads:
“Mario and his friends join forces to defend Princess Peach’s Castle from the evil Koopa King Bowser and his gigantic, rampaging army. The Super Mario Bros Movie also features some of the most memorable characters in video game history including Princess Peach, Yoshi, Luigi, and the notorious Goomba, as well as new characters like the Hammer Brothers.”
The game will also feature iconic locations from the Mario video games like Rainbow Road from Mario Kart.
The Super Mario Bros Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. This is Horvath’s second feature after the animated film “Teen Titans Go to the Movies” and it’s Jelenic’s film debut.

- Bowser- Jack Black (School of Rock, Tropic Thunder)
- Toad- Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu, Key & Peele)
- Donkey Kong- Seth Rogan (Pineapple Express, This Is The End)
- Cranky Kong- Fred Armisen (The Rocker, Easy A)
- Foreman Spike- Sebastian Maniscalco (The Irishman, Tag)
- Kamek- Kevin Michael Richardson (Clerks 2, Spy Hard)
- Penguin King- Khary Payton (Walker, Texas Ranger, Criminal Minds)
The Super Mario Bros Movie is coming from Nintendo, Universal Pictures, and Illumination. Mario and company will grace the silver-screen on April 7, 2023!
