Record $1.9 Billion Could be Won in Monday’s Powerball Drawing

AUSTIN – Texas Lottery officials Sunday confirmed that there were no winning Powerball tickets sold in Saturday night's drawing so the jackpot was raised to a record $1.9 billion for Monday.

The increased jackpot will be the largest in U.S. history. The second biggest prize was a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot won by three ticketholders in 2016.

The winning numbers drawn Saturday were: white balls 28, 45, 53, 56, 69 and the red power ball 20.

The advertised top prize Monday will be an estimated $1.9 billion, that is for winners who choose to receive their winnings through an annuity paid over 29 years. Winners almost always opt for cash though, which for Monday night’s drawing will be an estimated $929 million.
