HOLLYWOOD – A controversial movie with an NC-17 rating based on a biography of Marilyn Monroe has dropped its first trailer.
“Blonde”, based on a novel by Joyce Carol Oates, and directed by Andrew Dominik, is based on the life of the Marilyn Monroe.
The “Blonde” official synopsis reads:
Based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde boldly reimagines the life of one of Hollywood’s most enduring icons, Marilyn Monroe.
From her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane, through her rise to stardom and romantic entanglements, Blonde blurs the lines of fact and fiction to explore the widening split between her public and private selves.
Written and directed by Andrew Dominik, the film boasts a cast led by Ana de Armas and features Bobby Cannavale, Adrian Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel, and Evan Williams.
"Blonde" will also hold onto its NC-17 rating.
From catching an updraft in a white dress to an alleged affair with John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe became an iconic sex symbol before tragically passing away at age 36 due to a drug overdose.
