BURBANK, CA- After the announcement of the Harry Potter 20th anniversary special “Return to Hogwarts”, Warner Brothers has dropped the first trailer for the 3rd entry in the Fantastic Beasts franchise titled “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a prequel to the Harry Potter franchise that has now started diving further into the wizarding world’s history and one of the lives of Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald.
Grindelwald, played by Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) had a small part in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows but now his relationship with Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes, Enemy at the Gates).
Grindelwald is one of the most powerful dark wizards of all time and set out to make witches and wizards rule over non-magical individuals.
Albus Dumbledore can’t face Grindelwald alone and enlists the help of magizoologist Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl) leads a team on a dangerous mission where they’ll battle with Grindelwald’s followers.
Besides the return of Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterson (Logan Lucky, Alien: Covenant) as Porpentina Goldstien, Ezra Miller (Zach Snyder’s Justice League, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) as Credence Barebone, Dan Fogler (Fanboys, Balls of Fury), and Alison Sudol (Transparent, The Last Full Measure).
Mads Mikkelson takes over the role of Gellert Grindelwald after Johnny Depp was removed from the role after domestic abuse allegations were brought against him along with a lengthy legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard.
