LOS ANGELES, CA- Paramount dropped a few trailers for surprise video game movie sequel and a highly anticipated video game live action series this past weekend.
Up first is the first look at the SEGE video game adaptation sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Back in 2019 when the first Sonic the Hedgehog trailer dropped, fans across the internet were upset at the design of the beloved character. Instead of ignoring the fans, the crew went to work and came up with a design that fans loved and proved it by showing up to see the movie in theaters.
According to boxofficemojo.com, Sonic made right around $58 million in its opening weekend. By the end of the movie’s theater run, Sonic topped out at about $300 million dollars from the box office and about $50 million in DVD/Blu-Ray sales.
Because of this, a sequel was born, and it looks to expand on the Sonic the Hedgehog lore.
Sonic the Hedgehog brings back stars Park and Rec funnyman Ben Schwartz the titular hedgehog Sonic, James Marsden as Tom Wahowski, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, and Jim Carry as the villainous Dr. Robotnik.
Also returning, from an end credit scene, is Miles Prower better known as Tails. Tails is a two-tailed fox who is a friend to Sonic.
The big addition to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the echidna Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elda (Thor Movies, The Suicide Squad) and from the trailer it seems that he’ll at least begin working for Jim Carry’s Dr. Robotnik.

The other trailer dropped is a little more of a recent but highly respected game that seems to have been in development for quite some time and fans are now getting a live-action adaptation of the video game, HALO.
Not much is known about what the HALO series will be a direct adaptation of the games or take Master Chief, played by Pablo Schreiber, to new locations and new threats.
Besides Schreiber, Jen Taylor returns as the voice of Master Chief’s AI “Cortana”, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey, and Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-66.
