SAN ANGELO, TX — The 2021 En Plein Air Texas artists competition is over. Saturday afternoon, art lovers from all over the state of Texas toured the exhibits of paintings created using San Angelo and Concho Valley areas as inspiration. The event, organized by co-chairs Barbara Rallo and Treva Boyd, is a major competition in the en plein air painting arts movement nationwide. More on this year's event.

The winners were chosen by a selected judge, Tim Newton. He is currently the Publisher of Western Art & Architecture Magazine, and past Chairman/CEO of the renowned Salmagundi Club in New York City, where he was the founder and curator of the highly successful American Masters exhibition there.
Selected and juried competing artists arrived in San Angelo for the 2021 En Plein Air Texas competition on October 22 and have been painting using local subjects ever since. For more information, see the website.
