Photos: Plateauberfest in Downtown San Angelo: A Good Time Was Had by All!

SAN ANGELO – Crowds flocked to downtown San Angelo Saturday for some good old-fashioned German food and beer at Plateauberfest (Plateau + Octoberfest) at Plateau Brewing Company on Chadbourne St.

The Octoberfest event featured German beer and food, BBQ, live music, Oktoberfest games and kids activities.

There was also an event called a stein hoist. Contestants held a full beer stein out in front of them for a $25 prize for the man and woman who held the stein the longest.

According to sources at the Plateauberfest, the winner of the stein hoist for the men was Gil Shackelford of Alpine and the winner for the women was Jesse Garcia of San Angelo. The each won a $25 tap room gift certificate.

Plateauberfest ran from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday on Chadbourne St. in downtown San Angelo.
