Sad Day for a Sharp Dressed Man – ZZ Top's Dusty Hill Passes Away

 

HOUSTON,TX – The bass player for legendary Texas rock band ZZ Top, Dusty Hill, has passed away.

Bandmates Frank Beard and Billy Gibbons said in a post that Hill passed away in his sleep at his home in Houston, Texas on Wednesday.

“We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to ‘Blues Shuffle in C.” Beard and Gibbons post reads.

On July 23rd, Hill was said to be dealing with a hip issue and headed home on what the band called a “short detour” and at Hill’s request had ZZ Top’s guitar tech Elwood Francis take over the bass.

Dusty Hill was 72 years old.
