SAN ANGELO, TX – This year for the first time, Downtown San Angelo, Inc. is hosting a “Kid’s Q” cookoff for local children to participate in the grilling fun. In addition to a family friendly environment and activities for the kids, the event will accommodate San Angelo local, Brady Stewart, who recently participated in Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship.
Kid Baker Brady will be showcasing his talents for the public in a cake decorating demonstration at 11 a.m. on October 19, followed by handing out cake slices for attendees to enjoy.
The Kids BBQ Competition is on Saturday, October 19. There will be the Hamburger competition for ages 6-10 and the Pork Chop competition for ages 11-15. The $25 entry fee will be paid by contestants the day of the event and all kids must be accompanied by an adult while they participate. All meats for the competition will be provided. Turn in time for judging is 4:30 p.m.
The Brews, Ewes, and BBQ Festival begins at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 18-19, 2019 at El Paseo de Santa Angela (20 E. Avenue D). The festival will consist of a home brew beer competition and BBQ cookoff featuring brisket, pork ribs, chicken, and lamb. All ages are welcome so bring the family!
