Sonora's Dry Devils River Music Flood is Back For Its 8th Year

SONORA, TX – The eighth annual Dry Devils River Music Flood is right around the corner. The festival returns to the Sutton County Park for another year of music, concessions, a fun run, and the annual cook-off.

“It’s our eight annual Music Flood and it’s a fun-filled, music, all day long event for the whole family,” said Donna Garrett, Executive Director of the Sonora Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s event will be headlined by Craig Morgan and includes a great lineup: Jon Wolfe, AJ Castillo, Red Shanan, Robert Ray, Trusk Stop Gamblers and Triston Marez.

The Dry Devils Music Flood began in 2011 with local bands and as a good time for the people of Sonora and neighboring communities. Last year’s event drew over 800 attendees and organizers expect to welcome over 2,000 this year.

Last year’s event was the first time the festival included Texano music into the mix and adding a new sound to the traditional Texas Country festival had a very positive response from the audience. This year the lineup includes artists from both genres and Craig Morgan.

Gates open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5th, with music starting at noon. Stop by to enjoy tasty brisket, chicken, and ribs along with pinto beans, bloody marys, and margaritas. This is a free event for the whole family.

No coolers are allowed, but a cash bar will be available on the premises. Primitive and RC campsites are available; lawn chairs are welcomed. Stop by at any time during the day as the event will continue until 1:00 am.

Organizers advise attendees to book their hotel rooms and accommodations before the event as rooms can be limited.
