West Texas Jam II Lands Two Major Sponsors

SAN ANGELO, TX — Modelo Especial will be the title sponsor of the West Texas Jam II scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13 and 14 at the Bill Aylor Memorial Riverstage in San Angelo. The Mexican imported beer is the fastest growing brand in America today, according to 24/7 Wall Street. It experienced a 126.8 percent increase in market share between 2012 and 2017.

San Angelo’s rock station, KWFR The Fire 101.9 FM, will be the presenting sponsor. The Fire’s afternoon DJ Dennis Allen will emcee the event that is poised to be the biggest rock concert in San Angelo in a decade.

West Texas Jam II is billed as “2 Days, 5 Bands” and is headlined by the award-winning Dallas KISS tribute show called Rock and Roll Over Saturday night. Rock and Roll Over was named a “Top 4” KISS tribute by KISS themselves. The tribute show is high energy and features similar costumes and on-stage choreography for which KISS is famous.

Friday night is all heavy metal. Megadeth tribute band Youthanasia will warm the crowd up followed by the finale for the evening Kill’ Em All, the top touring Metallica tribute show in the country. Formed in 2010, the Dallas-based band will make you feel like you are seeing the real thing.

Though coolers are not allowed at City of San Angelo venues, our concessionaire will have all of your favorite beer available, especially the brew from our title sponsor Modelo Especial.

The reason why Modelo Especial is the fastest-increasing in popularity in America is because the American consumer is moving away from traditional domestic brews in favor of imports, especially Mexican brews.

Modelo Especial has an appealing taste to gain so much market share. What is its secret?

“It’s the brewing process and recipe that produces a consistently crisp and well-balanced beer,” said Fernando Reyes, market director for Constellation Brands for this region.

Modelo Especial is brewed right across the border from Eagle Pass in the town of Nava, about a 20-minute drive south from Piedras Negras. There, Modelo operates the largest brewery in the world for Constellation Brands. Over 265 million gallons of beer are brewed there annually. Corona Premiere, the low calorie and carb light beer that still has those Corona taste characteristics, is also brewed there.

Twin Peaks Restaurants is sponsoring the glow-in-the-dark wristbands to be given out at the show. The contributing sponsors of West Texas Jam II are MediaJaw and Dry Clean SuperCenter in San Angelo.

Tickets to West Texas Jam II are priced so everyone can enjoy two nights of rock at a very affordable price. General admission access using the Twin Peaks Restaurants show bracelets are just $10 each night if tickets are purchased together in advance. Premium seating near the stage and reserved seating immediately behind those seats are available for a little more.

The weather forecast for the weekend is looking good. National Weather Service forecasts partly cloud skies with 80 degree F temperatures with a 6 mph breeze from the east and southeast both nights. No rain is in the forecast.
