Saturday's Warrant Concert Canceled

SAN ANGELO, TX — Concert promoter Jack FM 103.5 FM said they are postponing the planned Warrant concert that was scheduled for the San Angelo RiverStage Saturday night.

According to Matt Drake, general manager of the radio station, they are expecting bad weather.

“If it were simply rainy we would be proceeding as scheduled however, with Thunderstorms with possible lightning, Rain, high winds and frigid temperatures we feel that not only will this be a miserable experience that there could also be potential risks for people exposed and outdoors,” Drake posted on Facebook. The weather forecast calls for thunderstorms early Saturday morning with cloudy and windy weather by the early afternoon. Temperatures are expected to drop to 45 degrees F Saturday night.

The RiverStage is an outdoor venue.

The show was billed as Rock the River, a concert headlined Warrant with opening acts Jack Russell’s Great White and Firehouse.

Jack FM’s Matt Drake said the show is being rescheduled and those who purchased tickets should retain them for the later date. “We will get the new show date as soon as possible and will announce it in the next couple of days. This will not be prolonged as we are as excited as you are to Rock the River,” he wrote.

Drake did not mention if refunds were being offered.
