SAN ANGELO, TX -- The world premiere of the movie "The Needle and the Thread" about the Lady in Blue will be held in San Angelo at the Murphey Performance Hall on Sunday complete with stars of the movie and a red carpet welcome.
According to Historic Beginnings of San Angelo Chair Tilly Chandler, the movie tells the story of the native Jumano Indians conversion to Christianity in the 1600s in the San Angelo area. A Catholic nun from Agreda, Spain appeared to the native Jumanos and taught them about Christ before Spanish missionaries arrived in the country. The Jumanos traveled to the missionaries and asked to be baptized.
The movie tells the that story.
