Symphony Guild Enjoys French-Themed Gala

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Symphony Guild held their annual gala Saturday night at the Cactus Hotel. The theme of the formal, black tie event was Rendezvous in Paris. Chef Tim Condon of the Angry Cactus was the chef. He said his selection of food was meant to “take the guests to the French countryside.”

The menu was headlined by Ratatouille, salad with rosemary thyme, squash and eggplant. Steak with pepper was the main course, with roasted potatoes. No French cuisine is complete without the appropriate ice sculpture of the Eiffel Tower. The one Saturday night was over eight feet tall.

At the event, the Guild introduced the Symphony Belles and Beaus who serve as the ushers for each symphony performance for the 2018 season.

A live auction of “pops” tables was held, and a silent auction of more items lasted most of the night.

Guests danced the night away to tunes provided by Manny Campos Band and Jazz Ensemble.

So nice to see the Cactus in full bloom! I was a night desk clerk there while attending college...and the old girl was trying really hard. Someone has revived her! Thanks Joe for the pictures.
