SAN ANGELO, TX — Country music legend John Anderson will perform in San Angelo on Tuesday, March 7 at Blaine’s Pub. Anderson is one generation younger than Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, but his string of hits tracing back to 1977 are likely familiar to most folks.
His most memorable early hit was “Swingin.’” The single won Single and Song of the Year at the 1983 Country Music Association Awards. He was also named Male Vocalist of the Year in 1983. The single was the biggest selling record in the history of Warner Brothers records.

He repeated the award 10 years later with the song “Seminole Wind.” That song won Music Video of the Year and Song of the Year, too.

Anderson joins a growing trend of performances for Blaine’s. Last October, John Conlee sold out a concert there. Conlee moved to Nashville near the same time as Anderson and scored hits during the late-1970s and into the ‘80s.
Blaine’s retro-concerts reintroduce legends of country music to new and old fans alike and are proving to be popular events.
The John Anderson performance is an early show, starting at 8 p.m.
Tickets to the John Anderson show on Tuesday, March 7 are $36.50 in advance when purchased online, or $40 at the door. Reserved tables are available by calling Blaine’s (325) 653-7074.
