SAN ANGELO, TX — The light tour along the Concho River in San Angelo will be lit up early this year, according to organizers of the Concho Christmas.
Wednesday afternoon spokeswoman Donna Donaldson announced that the lights will be illuminated as a “soft opening” to show the athletes, coaches, school officials, fans and family members of Allen, Texas how beautiful San Angelo is during the Christmas holidays. The soft opening is also to benefit family members and friends of Bobcat fans who may travel here over Thanksgiving to see Friday’s semifinal football matchup at San Angelo Stadium at 4 p.m.

The Concho Christmas Tour of Lights is the most anticipated local tradition in San Angelo. Along the banks of the Concho River, magnificent Christmas light displays are situated. Those viewing the lights tour via their own private vehicle. The tour route begins at W. 1st St. and S. Bryant Blvd. just west of downtown.
Concho Christmas said the soft opening will occur Thanksgiving evening and Friday evening.
The light tour officially opens after the lighting of San Angelo’s official Christmas tree on Dec. 3 at 5:15 p.m.
