Molly Owen, Literacy Coordinator for the ALC, said, "Over the years, we average around 60 to 125 guests per event. A lot of people seem to think it's only for residents who live in the area; but we welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities. Since it's in the evening, most people will have already eaten, but we'll have a barbecue pit on site with someone cooking hot dogs." Owen added, "One year, we even had the Mayor out there cooking."

As for the live music, San Angelo's Jimmie Rose and the All-Stars will play from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Although this is not an official fundraiser for the non-profit organization, donations are gladly accepted.

"We'll have a few books on site for sale for those who are interested, but basically, it's just for people to get out of the house and enjoy spending time together," said Owen.

Santa Rita Park is located at 1111 S. Madison Street, across from Santa Rita Elementary School. Owen said, "Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit on, and just come out and have a good time."
