The Angelo State’s University Theatre begins its 2016-2017 Arts at ASU Season with a splash. The summer dinner theatre production will be “Baby with the Bathwater” by Christopher Durang.
The story follows the life of two very inept parents and their son named Daisy. The production will narrate the troubles Daisy faces after having unique parents. The format of the production will be a play-within-a-play; actors will be playing children who pretend to be adults as they play in their kindergarten class.
The production will also be directed by Bill Doll, professor of theatre and director of University Theatre, and will include an all-student cast and several student crew members.
The showings for the production will begin at 8:00 p.m. on June 30 –July 2, and July 7 – July 9; dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. A matinee performance is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, at 2:00 p.m., with lunch served at 12:45 p.m.
Tickets will be available for $12.50 for ASU students, $15 for non-ASU students and Arts at ASU subscribers, and $20 for general admission. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, June 20, for Arts at ASU subscribers and Wednesday, June 22, for general admission. The ASU Box office is open from 2:00-6:00 p.m., or reservations can be made at 325-942-2000.
