The City of San Angelo is gearing up for one of its most popular annual events, Date Night, for fathers and daughters, mothers and sons and families. This year’s event will be held Feb. 15 – 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive.
According to a city press release, tickets are available for purchase from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Recreation offices in Santa Fe Crossing, 702 S. Chadbourne St. Tickets cost $12 for Daddy-Daughter Date Night, which will be hosted on Feb. 15 and 17, and Mother-Son Date Night on Feb. 16. This COSA Recreation Division-sponsored event is aimed at boys and girls, ages 5-12, with the exception of Family Night, which is open to all ages. 3 Parrots Taco Shop will also serve snacks the first three nights. For Family Date Night, tickets cost $20 each and includes a catered barbecue dinner.
Date Night provides an important parental focus on girls and boys, and will include dancing to music by deejay Gus Costancio, photo packages by The Photo Studio, western-themed mementos mostly priced at $3 and less, and a grand prize to be given away each night. Prizes include two diamond necklaces from Gordon’s Jewelers. To keep with this year’s rodeo theme, rodeo attire “with bling” is encouraged.
