WATCH: Another University Joins the Texas Tech University System

WICHITA FALLS, TX – Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill on Tuesday afternoon allowing Midwestern State University to join the Texas Tech University System.

According to Tedd Mitchell, president of the Texas Tech University System, starting Sep. 1, Midwestern State University will join the Texas Tech University System.

Angelo State University joined the Texas Tech University System in 2007.  

This will be the fifth school in the system. Other schools include Angelo State University, Texas Tech, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (Lubbock), and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso.

Gov. Greg Abbott approved the change by signing HB 1522 into law.

Currently MSU Texas has an enrollment of around 6,000 students.
