Angelo State Hosts Dia de los Muertos Night at the Museum

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's Mayer Museum will host its next monthly "Night at the Museum" program on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Mayer Museum at 2501 W. Ave. N.

Night at the Museum will run from 5-8 p.m. and is free and open to community members of all ages.

For this installment, ASU's Association of Mexican American Students (AMAS) is co-hosting a celebration of Dia de los Muertos, featuring:

  • 6 p.m. - ASU Mariachi Los Pastores performance
  • 6:30 p.m. - ASU Danza de Oro ballet folklorico performance
  • 7 p.m. - General blessing by ASU Newman Center

Other family-friendly and educational activities scheduled throughout the evening include:

  • 5-6 p.m. - DIY Sugar Skulls with the ASU Spanish Club
  • 5-6 p.m. - ASU Virtual Reality Tour demonstration
  • 7-8 p.m. - Monarch Butterfly Project & STEM Projects with the ASU Tri-Beta biology honor society
  • Impressions Art Passport Project with the ASU Art Club, Kappa Pi and Art in Uncommon Places
  • Ofrenda Display curated by AMAS
  • Interactive Mayer Museum exhibits

The final Night at the Museum event of the year will be offered on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
