SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University will host a community cybersecurity event, sponsored by First Financial Bank, designed to provide business and nonprofit leaders and the public with strategies to effectively recover from fraud and cyber attacks on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon in the University Center's C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open and free to the public.
Cyber experts from various industries, including government, banking, healthcare, education and others, will provide expert tips, practical strategies and proven techniques for handling the aftermath of a cyber attack. From incident-response essentials to real-life examples, participants will gain the tools and confidence to recover from a cyber breach and strengthen their cyber defenses for the future. Specific topics include:
- How to react immediately after a cyber attack
- Simple steps for securing personal and proprietary records
- Expert insights on effective overall incident response
Cybersecurity personnel will be present from Angelo State, First Financial, Concho Valley Technology Alliance, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency/Department of Homeland Security, Shannon Medical Center, TCP Software and the Region 15 Education Service Center.
