Angelo State Hosts STEM Lab Night for Families and Students Tomorrow

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's College of Science and Engineering will host its semi-annual STEM Lab Night event on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 5-7 p.m. in the Vincent Building at 2333 Vanderventer Ave. and the adjacent Hunter Strain Engineering Labs.

STEM Lab Night is a free community event designed to inspire students of all ages and their families to get involved in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects and activities. Participants will meet and interact with COSE students, faculty, and staff as they engage in fun activities and experiments, including:

  • Solar cells
  • Gummy worms and polymers
  • Fossils
  • Lava lamps
  • Paper rocket launches
  • Augmented Reality (AR) headsets for ages 13+
  • Virtual Reality (VR) headsets for ages 10+
  • Candy Crush materials engineering

ASU mascots Roscoe and Bella will also be on hand to interact with participants and pose for photos.

Originating in 2018, STEM Lab Night is offered once during each fall and spring semester. It has also expanded to include all the COSE academic departments, other departments across campus, and community partners.
