ASU to Host Special Presentation from West Texas Author

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University's Friends of the Porter Henderson Library and Dr. Arnoldo de Leon Department of History will host a special presentation by West Texas author S.J. Dahlstrom on Thursday, April 25, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

Dahlstrom's presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in the University Center's C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is free and open to the public.

The award-winning author of the "Wilder Good" young adult book series, Dahlstrom, will discuss his life, his work, and how to "Be Wilder." His presentation will be followed by a meet-and-greet reception and book signing with light refreshments.

Dahlstrom is a fifth-generation Texan who lives and writes in West Texas with his wife and children. He draws on his experiences as a cowboy, husband and father, as well as a founder of the Whetstone Boys Ranch, for his books that center on young outdoorsman and adventurer, Wilder Good, who lives in rural Colorado. There are eight books in the series with a ninth on the way.

"I wrote these stories about Wilder Good for kids who grew up in the outdoors and for kids who long for the outdoors - working, fishing, hunting, farms, ranches, mountains and prairies," Dahlstrom said. "We should not forget that we have real adventure to offer kids, if we can have the courage to turn off our machines and screens and go outside."
