San Angelo ISD Students Prepare for School Transitions

SAN ANGELO, TX - Throughout January and February, San Angelo ISD is facilitating a transition for 5th and 8th-grade students as they move from elementary to middle school and from middle to high school, respectively.

Information from the school states that during this period, 5th-grade students will tour their designated middle school campuses, gaining insights into the opportunities that await them.

Collaborating with their principals and teachers, students will complete a Google Form in class, indicating their class preferences for 6th grade.

Parents/guardians will have the chance to review and comment on their student's preferences through a provided course verification form.

8th graders will attend transition fairs on specific dates:

  • Glenn Middle School: January 30, 2024
  • Lincoln Middle School: January 18, 2024
  • Lone Star Middle School: January 31, 2024

These fairs offer students information on aspects of high school planning, including graduation requirements and various programs of study through Career and Technical Education.

Working with counselors and teachers, 8th graders will use the online platform "Xello" to develop their individual graduation plans. Parents/guardians can make adjustments to these plans in Xello until March 7, 2024, with finalization by March 8, 2024.
