San Angelo ISD Students to Enjoy a Full Week Off for Thanksgiving

SAN ANGELO, TX — With Thanksgiving just around the corner, San Angelo Independent School District (SAISD) students are gearing up for a week-long break. Unlike previous years when students might have attended classes for a day or two during Thanksgiving week, the school calendar for 2023 has a different plan in store – no classes will be in session.

According to the SAISD calendar available on their website, the week kicks off with a Professional Learning Day/Trade Day for staff on Monday, November 20, during which students will have the day off. The pattern continues on Tuesday, with students enjoying an additional day off before the staff takes their first break on Wednesday. Subsequently, the entire school district will be on holiday from Wednesday, November 22, through Friday, November 24.

Classes resume the following Monday, providing students with a week to relax and recharge. Thanksgiving Day falls on Thursday, November 23, making this extended break an ideal opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the national holiday. This hiatus from the regular school routine not only allows students to unwind but also offers families a chance to spend quality time together.
