SAN ANGELO – Santa Rita Elementary School in San Angelo held a special ceremony Friday morning honoring Veterans for Veteran's Day. Congressman August Pfluger and State Representative Drew Darby, both graduates of Santa Rita, attended along with several local veterans.
The students gathered in the school gym for the program and sang to the veterans, including a salute to each branch of the military; the Army, Navy, Air Force Coast Guard, and United States Marines.

City and County offices are closed Friday in observance of Veteran's day. There is a parade in downtown San Angelo at 11 a.m. Saturday and everyone is encouraged to attend to honor veterans.
There is also a Veteran's Day Parade Saturday in Christoval at 4 p.m.
