SAN ANGELO – Tom Green County 4-H and FFA exhibitors have been working on their animal projects for months and this weekend is the first real test to see how they will perform as the annual Tom Green County Fair & Jr. Livestock Show kicks off Friday.
The Fair and Jr. Livestock Show takes place at the San Angelo Fairgrounds and admission is free to attend all weekend.
Here's a link to the Show webpage including a schedule of events.
Parents and friends are invited and encouraged to attend the Jr. Livestock Show and show support by donating to the premium sale or the cake auction.
The 4-H and FFA exhibitors are students in Tom Green County schools and have livestock projects including meat goats, steers and heifers, wind, lamb, broilers, and rabbits.
The show also includes the ever popular Ag Mechanics and project shows as well.
There is a Barbecue supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday followed by a premium auction, cake auction and sale of champions. Exhibitors are rewarded with cash prizes for their projects at the premium sale and sale of champions.
The projects shown at the County Show are eligible to be taken and exhibited at major shows and most are also entered in the San Angelo Stock Show in February.
