SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Independent School District will hold a virtual Town Hall meeting about the plan to close elementary schools later this week.
According to the District, As San Angelo ISD thoughtfully explores the recommendation for the Sustainability Plan presented by the West Texas architecture firm, we hosted town hall forums at our campuses most impacted by the combinations of elementary schools to hear from the varied perspectives and unique voices in our community. Our final town hall will be held virtually via Zoom on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5:30-6:30 pm. The town hall forums are designed to hear from groups particularly impacted by the merger of schools, and serve as an opportunity for the district to collaborate with, and hear from, all interested community members.
To participate in the virtual town hall, members of the public will need to join in virtually using any mobile device or computer with access to the internet via Zoom, a video communications platform for video and audio conferencing. A Zoom meeting identification link for the forum will be necessary. The Zoom identification link will be available at www.saisd.org/sustainability-plan on Thursday, January 12 at 8:00 am.
San Angelo ISD is holding this town hall virtually to accommodate our community members schedules. Should a community member desire to participate, but need a device or internet access, SAISD may be able to assist if a timely request is made to [email protected].
The forum will contain a brief presentation overview of the Sustainability plan led by SAISD leadership and representatives from Parkhill, the West Texas architecture firm, and a question and answer portion. The question and answer portion will be facilitated through the chat feature on Zoom. Participants can submit their questions in the chat, and questions will be read by a member of the SAISD team and answered by our panel. The town hall will include the capability to engage in both English and Spanish language.
With the support and input of our SAISD families, staff and community, this Sustainability Plan will help the district to fulfill our mission of preparing our students to be future-ready, and further our strategic goal to provide efficient, safe, and innovative learning spaces that promote student achievement.
We will continue to provide updates throughout the process at a dedicated page on the District website at www.saisd.org/Sustainability-Plan. Click here to download a flyer with more information about the Sustainability Plan in Englishand for Spanish.
