Howard College to Host Graduation Ceremonies on May 13th

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Graduation season is in full swing and for Howard College students the big day will be Thursday, May 13th.

The college announced students receiving associate degrees or certificates will have the option to walk the stage or participate virtually. Families and friends will be welcomed to the live event with tickets.

“The journey has been especially difficult for many of our students over the last year as they have dealt with the ramifications of the pandemic,” said Dr. Cheryl T. Sparks, President. “And we are so excited to be able to host an in-person/virtual graduation for our students and mark this important milestone in their lives.”

COVID-19 protocols will be in place for all of the ceremonies and will include mask requirements, social distancing, and temperature screening at the door.

Howard College students are allowed 4 tickets per family and all guests will be required to have a ticket to attend in person. Howard College will also offer a live stream for those who cannot or choose not to attend in person. The links for the live stream will be made available on the college website. 

“Students start at Howard College with a dream for their future,” said Sparks. “And today, we proudly share this moment with our students and their families to celebrate as their dream turns into a reality.”

The pinning ceremonies will take place at the Sierra Vista Methodist Church during the following times. Families and friends will be able to join in person or virtually.

  • Health Professions: 10:00 am
  • Vocational Nursing: 11:30 am
  • Generic and Transition RN: 1:00 pm

The graduation ceremony will take place at Foster Communications Coliseum. Doors open for guests at 5:45 p.m. and the ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.

COVID-19 Protocols for all events:

  • Temperature screening upon entrance.
  • Masks are required while in attendance at any ceremony. Children age 10 and under are not required to wear a mask.
  • Social distancing will be observed. Family groups are asked to sit at least 6 ft from other family groups.
