ASU Cancels Spring Break to Stop the Spread of COVID-19

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Angelo State University announced Wednesday that it will not allow students a spring break in the 2021 spring semester in order to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. 

According to ASU, on July 22, Angelo State University has made the decision to begin the Spring 2021 semester on Monday, Jan. 25. The semester will end as originally scheduled on Friday, May 14. The schedule eliminates spring break.

Dual-credit courses taught in high schools will be subject to their respective high schools’ schedules.  

This decision was made in consultation with the academic and executive leadership of ASU with input from other stakeholders on campus. This move is part of the continued effort to protect the university community from the potential spread of COVID-19

Members of the faculty, students and staff are being notified of the change. As in the fall, ASU understands that this is an unprecedented change to the university calendar. 

ASU has also declared that all students will be required to wear a facemask. Here is a video explaining that:

Mid-summer, without any understanding where we'll be next spring. Momma would call this knee jerk reaction "A day late and a dollar short."

Tell 'em not to worry about the infinitesimal danger posed by COVID-19 and not to slip in the shower in the meantime, Cajun. The political heat over all this coronavirus stuff is really turning up across the nation and around the world!

What about the long Labor Day weekend, after four or five weeks stuffed in a dorm or an apartment, going to work, enjoy a hobby or to meet a friend? Watch for a spike on top of the surge 5-14 days after classes resume after Labor Day. The rest of the city needs to get itself under control because the ICU and covid floor at Shannon are gonna need those beds.

Thin the herd it’s what not even 1% population yet flu kills more and there’s a shot won’t be a shot till December maybe? It’s population control and it’s not bs wait till your forced to get new shot or you can’t go anywhere
