Brownwood ISD Superintendent Named Superintendent of the Year

BROWNWOOD, TX — Dr. Joe Young, who currently serves as the superintendent of Brownwood ISD, was recently named Region 15 Superintendent of the Year. Region 15 serves over 40 schools in West Texas, including San Angelo.

“Dr. Young is the perfect example of a man who is regarded as having the utmost integrity, one who demonstrates compassion to others, as well as exhibiting a strong commitment to his profession - an educator," said BISD Board of Trustees President Michael Cloy. "Consistent praise from teachers, parents, and students are extremely encouraging for the Board of Trustees and further our confidence in him as our leader."

According to KTXS, Dr. Young is now in the running for the State Superintendent of the Year Award. The winner will be announced later this fall.

“Brownwood ISD is filled with fantastic students led and supported by an outstanding staff,” said Dr. Young. “It is my extreme honor to be a part of this community and district. During the Superintendent of the Year interview process, it was easy to share the incredibly impactful work we are doing here. Credit for this work is deserved by our entire district."
