Howard College to Host Candle Lighting Ceremony for Nursing Students

SAN ANGELO, TX – In collaboration with Shannon Hospital, Howard College will be honoring nursing students in a special candle lighting and Nightingale pledge ceremony.

Nursing students will congregate at Shannon Medical Center parking lot by 8:15 p.m. and the candle lighting and pledge will take place after sunset (approximately 8:40 pm).

Students will be required to remain in their vehicles for the passing of the torch/candle lighting from Faculty Members followed by a group recitation of the Nightingale Pledge.

“It is our hope that some of the nursing personnel from the hospital will be able to observe the ceremony from the hospital,” said the college in a statement.

The ceremony will also be streamed through Facebook Live @HowardCollegeSanAngeloHealthProfessons and @HCSanAngelo.
